Websites for restaurants and cafés that want more covers
Your menu is a PDF. On a phone it arrives as a grey rectangle that has to be pinched to read, and a good share of the people who tried have already picked somewhere else.
Open the café demo
A complete five-page site with the menu set as real text: sections, dishes, prices, allergens. Try it on a phone.
What usually goes wrong
The menu is a PDF
It was made for print. On a phone it downloads, opens in another app and loads at the wrong size. Search engines cannot read the dishes inside it, so nobody looking for your best dish ever finds you.
Your hours are wrong somewhere
Correct on the door, out of date on a listing site, missing from your own site. The version somebody reads at nine at night is always the wrong one.
The delivery platforms own your customers
They hold your menu, your photographs and your reviews, and they charge you a commission on a customer who already knew your name.
There is no way to get in touch that is not a phone call
People decide at six on a Friday. If booking a table means ringing during service, most of them will not bother.
What goes on a restaurant site I build
The demo has every one of these in it.
- A real menu in HTML: sections, dishes, descriptions, prices, allergen notes. Text, so search engines and screen readers can both read it.
- Opening hours marked up as structured data, so they appear correctly in search results and on maps.
- A location that opens in whichever map app the person already uses.
- Links to the delivery platforms you are on, gathered in one place instead of scattered.
- A gallery that loads quickly on a phone in a car park with one bar of signal.
- Menu changes as part of the monthly fee: two a month, each done within 48 hours.
What it costs
From $850 in US dollars (AED 3,000) to build, then $110 (AED 400) a month. If the menu changes often, the Standard plan gives you a bigger site and the same 48-hour turnaround.
Worth reading before you hire anyone
- How to put your menu online without a PDF
Why a PDF menu cannot be read by search engines or screen readers, and what to do instead.
- How much should a restaurant website cost?
What each price bracket buys, and what to check before you pay anybody.
- UAE websites: VAT and licence display
Whether your prices have to say they include 5% VAT, and where the TRN belongs.
Send me your menu
A photograph of the printed menu is enough to start. I will tell you what the site would cost and how long it takes.
